Service Stations

Bellow you can find more information on some of our service stations and what they do to help our community.

SHIIP-SMP

SHIIP counselors help individuals turning 65 navigate Medicare. They also work during the open enrollment period to help educate individuals on their Part D plan and make changes to save them money.

SHIPP counselors go through training on Medicare and are able to serve year round and make their own schedule.

AARP Tax Program

Tax Preparers help individuals by filing their tax return by April 15. These appointments are free to individuals in the community. Our tax program is through AARP and volunteers that participate in this program get trained to do so.

Rent Reimbursement

Volunteers who participate in this program help eligible individuals input their information to HHS for rent reimbursement. They meet with the individuals and do the application via computer for them.

Training for this is provided and usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour.

Holiday Network

Holiday Network starts as soon as school starts. Volunteers help prepare applications, take them to the school, and get data from applications. Once the prep work is done volunteers help make tags to go out to local businesses and help with donations. During the event volunteers help with set up and help the families that go through get their food boxes and gifts.

Mobile Meals

Mobile meals is partnered with a local hospital that makes meals. Our volunteers deliver the meals to homebound individuals in the community.

Information & referral

Volunteers help out at information & Referral with their mobile food pantries, recycling, and their backpack program.

PLARN

PLARN is a fun word for plastic yarn. This group of volunteers using plastic bags to make mats and bags for the homeless. Many of our volunteers in PLARN also makes hats and scarves that go to Holiday Network. This group of volunteers meets on Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:00am and volunteer from home as well.
